When the covid-19 Pandemic kicked-in, a large number of employees and businesses went to a halt. Many people started looking for an additional or alternate source of income. With different options available, why is direct selling the best alternative for you?

Direct selling is a good way to start a business of your own. Specially true if you  never had any business background, education or experience before. Here, you can free yourself from the burden of thinking what to sell, how to make them and where to get the materials. You can already jump into the marketing and selling part as soon as you start. 

All business involves sales and marketing – this is where the money comes in. With Direct Selling, all you need to do is choose the product that fits your personality, passion, and your circle of influence. Once you have chosen the product and brand that you can be proud of selling and representing, you just need to use and understand the products and the marketing plan – then you’re good to go. 

2. SENSE OF BELONGINGNESS

It’s been said that eagles fly alone and is not afraid of being outnumbered. But then again, it can feel lonely being alone on the top right? In a Direct-Selling business, you are in the business for yourself, but you are never by yourself. You will surely have someone with you.

Although being a Business owner is everyone’s goal, at this point in time in the middle of a Pandemic, it may not be the best condition to start a brand from scratch. Choose a Direct-Selling Company that already has a brand name and with products of good reputation.

The beauty of this is that you can do direct selling part-time. Personally, I have been doing direct selling of skincare products part-time for 13 years as an IT Professional. So, I can dare say, it is doable.

I did not say it is easy. Direct selling is not a get rich quick scheme and it is not a bed of roses. But, if you are willing to go through the process – which is mostly about personal growth – then, you can earn really well. Income from direct-selling is both passive and active. To get there, my suggestion is:

• Study the process and equip yourself;
• Make time to understand the products and the marketing plan; and,
• Take advantage of all means available to you like the company’s support, social media and the internet,
• Involve your personal circle of influence. 

Remember, there is no such thing as free lunch, you can be successful in direct selling but you need to understand that like all other businesses, this requires strategy, determination to succeed, and investments.

• Personal, Team and Business Leadership (yes, leadership);
• Communication skills; and 
• Performance – to achieve all the challenges that the company are offering.
