Skincare Routine for Dry Skin between 18-29 Years Old

Dry Skin can be tricky to identify and maintain at times that’s why here is an easy to follow guide for you.

Being young and beautiful is a wonderful feeling! At this age, you should expect the fullest of your youth and the peak of your skin’s beauty. It pays to fancy taking a selfie here and there? Now, can you imagine the horror of waking up with fine lines, itchiness, and redness caused by dry skin? Nooooo! OK, you can wake up now.

First, let’s discuss the different skin types. Normal skin, Oily Skin, Dry Skin, and Combination Skin. If you are not sure of your skin type, refer to my previous blog first.

How to know if you have dry skin?
Dry Skin is accompanied by a feeling of tightness, sometimes itchiness, redness and deep fine lines caused by dead skin. You can also observe how your skin feels when you wake up in the morning. If you feel at least 2 on the list, then you probably have dry skin.

To double-check if your skin is dry, try to get an oil film, fold them into four and damp each side to your forehead, chin, cheeks, and the tip of your nose. When finished, look at the oil film and check if none of the sides got wet.

What is your perfect Skincare routine?
Since your skin is still very young, I recommend that you use the Mary Kay Botanicals Effects Skin Care. It is a gentle and simple regimen that fits your age group and is good for all skin type so even when you have sensitive skin, you can be comfortable using this simple regimen.

Step 1 Cleanse

Wash your face every morning and evening using the   Botanicals Effects Evolution Cleansing Gel.

  •   Wet your face with tap water.
  •   Put a pea-size cleanser on your palm.
  •   Spread the cleanser to your 5 focal points: chin, nose, cheeks, and forehead.
  •   Wet your fingers and lather the remaining cleanser on your palm.
  •   Lather your face starting from the chin, cheeks, nose, and forehead using a circular motion.
  •   Add a little water if the product is drying up. Note that the cleanser is concentrated and you may just need to add more water to lather your skin. Do this for 2-3 minutes or until your whole face is cleansed.

Step 2 Exfoliate

Exfoliate your skin 2-3 times a week using Botanical Effects Evolution Invigorating Scrub. Do the following while your face is still wet:

  •   Put a pea size of the product on your palm and apply it into your 5 focal points.
  •   Wet your beauty fingers and start scrubbing your face gently from the chin to the cheeks, nose, and forehead using circular motion.
  •   Do this for 2-3 minutes or until you have scrubbed your whole face.
  •   Rinse your face with lukewarm water and tap dry using a clean face towel.

This Step is essential to exfoliate your dead skin which may be causing your skin to be more dry and itchy.

Remember:  Do this step at night for 3-4 times a week. Do not do this every day.

Step 3 Toner

Freshen your skin with Botanical Effects Evolutions Refreshing toner. Dash the toner into a cotton ball or pad then apply it into your whole face until it is completely absorbed.

Step 4 Moisturize

Hydrate your skin with Botanical Effects Evolutions Moisturizing Gel by applying a pea-size of the product into your whole face. Do this every day, morning and night. Remember that if you have dry skin, you will need an extra moisturization. With Botanicals Effects, you have 2 options for Moisturizer.  One with sunblock and another one without sunblock.

In my personal opinion, if this if your first time to use the product and your budget are a bit tight, you can opt for the moisturizer with sunblock. But if your budget permits, you can use the Moisturizing Gel without sunblock which you can use morning and night then use CC cream and/or foundation for added protection.

Step 5 Protect

Protect your skin with SPF. Our skin needs everyday protection to avoid further damage. If you choose to use the Botanical Effects Evolutions Moisturizing Gel with SPF, then you can dab some CC Cream afterwards for double protection and Hydration.

Step 6 Finish

Finally, you can add either Sheer Mineral Powder or Mineral Powder foundation in the morning to lock your look before putting your make-up.

There you go! It’s your easy to follow skincare routine. If you want to reduce the steps into a 3-step skincare routine, look at this article for Botanicals.
