No job or business is perfect, the important thing is to enjoy it, even learn from it. If you are unhappy in your current situation, why not take steps now to change it? Somewhere out there is a job or business that is perfect for you. If you are already there, I applaud you.
If not, realize that it may take some time to figure out what you really want to do, and even more time to actually get there. That’s all right!
I can tell you from experience that finding and doing what you love is absolutely worth it, every step of the way. All of the sleepless nights, training, failure, heartache and hands-on experience has made me a stronger, more open and accepting person. Feeling in charge of my own destiny…well, there just is no greater feeling.
HOW CAN I FIND JOY IN WHAT I DO NOW?
If you are in the situation where you drag yourself to work or your business ( maybe it’s a business you inherited) then try these steps and find what can make you happy.
1. Find meaning and purpose:
Take a step back and reflect on the larger purpose behind your current work. Identify how it aligns with your values, goals, and personal mission. Look for ways to connect your tasks and responsibilities to something meaningful, whether it’s the impact you make on others, the skills you develop, or the values you uphold.
2. Cultivate gratitude and appreciation:
Shift your focus towards the positive aspects of your current situation. Practice gratitude by acknowledging and appreciating the opportunities, experiences, and lessons your work provides. Take note of the skills you’re gaining, the relationships you’re building, and the accomplishments you’ve achieved. Developing a sense of appreciation can help you find joy and love in the present moment.
3. Explore growth and learning opportunities:
Look for ways to expand your knowledge, skills, and responsibilities within your current role. Seek out professional development opportunities, take on new projects or challenges, or find ways to innovate and improve existing processes. By actively seeking growth, you can find satisfaction and a sense of love for your work through continuous learning and personal development.
Remember, it’s not always about finding the perfect job or completely changing your career. Sometimes, it’s about finding fulfillment and happiness in the present moment by embracing a positive mindset, seeking growth opportunities, and connecting with the deeper purpose of your work.

What are the benefits of doing what you love?
But why bother go through that cocoon phase to get to the point of doing what you love if where you are now is comfortable and convenient? Well, this for me is why we have the saying “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone”. I went through that dark, uncomfortable and itchy cocoon phase in order to transform into the blazing butterfly I am and start to live the dreams I only used to write in my vision board. And I can tell you, it is all worth it.
“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone”
Now, let’s talk about 5 personal benefits of doing what you love.
1. Sense of fulfillment:
Doing what you love brings a deep sense of purpose and satisfaction, aligning your work with your passions and giving your life meaning.
2. Enhanced creativity and innovation:
Engaging in activities you love fuels your imagination, encourages thinking outside the box, and allows for the exploration of new ideas.
3. Improved overall well-being:
Pursuing your passions reduces stress, boosts happiness, and positively impacts your mental and emotional health. I felt that I became a better person. I believe that you cannot give what you don’t have and by being better, I was able to give better and even lead a non-profit organization.
4. Greater success and financial rewards:
When you are passionate about your work, you are more likely to invest the time and effort needed to excel, leading to professional growth and advancement. Because of my Mary Kay career, I was able to travel to 20 countries for FREE and even get to experience luxurious cruises such as the Asian Cruise ( Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand) and a Mediterranean cruise ( Turkey and Greece ).
5. Positive impact on others:
By following your passions, you become a source of inspiration, motivation, and role model for others to pursue their own passions, contributing to a more vibrant and fulfilled community.
Remember, don’t settle for a life that doesn’t ignite your passion. Take the necessary steps to discover what truly brings you joy and pursue it with all your heart. Remember, the journey may not always be easy, but the rewards are immeasurable. So, go out there, embrace your passions, and create a life that is filled with purpose, happiness, and success.
